Se, jie a.k.a Lust, Caution (Chinese, 2007)Directed by: Ang Lee Written by: Eileen Chang, James Schamus, Hui-Ling WangStarring: Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Wei Tang, Joan Chen, Leehom Wang
I lust after the look of this film, but caution - it’s a long one, and quite intense at moments.
Anywho, this is one such foreign film where the length is absolutely unnoticeable once you get drawn in by these character, and Wei Tang’s wonderful performance. The cinematography is absolutely entrancing, the story interesting, but the intrigue of the chemistry between the ensemble whether negatively or positively charged is what shines in this film.
My rating: 4.5/5
