Ted (2012)
Directed by: Seth MacFarlane Written by: Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin, Wellesley Wild
Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale
I haven’t laughed in a theater like this in a while, nor have I actually had to cover my face to hide my cackling expression. The only thing was I almost wish there was more funny and less heart. Usually, that’s never something I would say, but it’s the type of film I don’t want to necessarily cry at at the end of the day, and tear up I did. I mean, technically it makes the film more pointed and actually gives an arc to the story, but it was predictable enough that I didn’t really see why it was necessary. Kudos to Ralph Garman for actually getting some lines in this film although they were few and far between. That man deserves a starring role already, come on people. Also, Giovanni Ribisi is overwhelmingly and beautifully cringeworthy. A lot of fun.
