I remember seeing ‘Paris, je t’aime’ for the first time with my mom in 2007 and the following conversation occurred when Gus Van Sant’s vignette started:
Mum: Oh.
Me: OH. OH MY.
“You believe in soul mates? Finding your other half?”
Mum: …you’re going to obsess over this French emo kid for the next decade, aren’t you?
Me: Damn right! No clue who he is, but I want to touch his hair and be his cigarette.
Mum: …………………………..rightly so.
