Today really confirmed that dreams can follow you around all day. They almost haunt you, in the inevitable way that a shadow does, but they’re not as easy to shake off by turning a corner, or stepping into another shadow out of the harsh light.
This doesn’t happen all that frequently, but when it does, it can be the most uncomfortable feeling in the world. Not because the dream was all together bad, or all together good, but just in the fact that it seemed so real. Much more real than the waste of time one seems to consider their most mundane ritual tasks, such as going to class, or doing household chores.
The dream still lingers in the back of your mind, and won’t allow your mind to settle. If a dream that felt so rooted in reality, was made so clear by something similar to your subconscious, then shouldn’t we pay attention to it? Shouldn’t we interpret it, then heed it’s warning, or apply it’s advice? Or do we just shake it off in the evening, and tell ourselves, “It was just a dream.”
